The National Capital Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG National Capital) has been helping to drive middle market growth in the nation’s capital for 30 years. And after three decades, the chapter – which represents one of the country’s largest economies and has nearly 400 members – remains the premier place for business leaders to come together, share best practices, and network.

In fact, many deals in the Washington, D.C. area are done between ACG members or conceived at ACG events. As ACG member, Stan Krejci, the founding principal of the SK Group, recently pointed out, “…that’s the beauty of ACG… these mergers and acquisitions have resulted from ACG member interactions and relationships.”

But the chapter is more than a place to network and do business. It’s also a place to learn. The chapter’s monthly meetings give members a window into the successes and failures of other great, local business leaders – which are valuable lessons that can be applied to their own businesses.

This ability to learn and grow was touted by ACG member, Wes Teague, a Partner at Indian River Advisors, when he said, “Although I held an MBA in finance, and had worked in the investment banking and commercial banking community, I did not have any direct experience in acquiring companies. I decided to acquire an additional “Masters” in M&A, and did so by joining ACG.”

With ACG National Capital so essential to the region’s business leaders and business community, it was no surprise to see so many of them out in force to celebrate its big milestone at the Barns at Wolf Trap on February 13, 2018. The event, which featured food, drink and live music from two exciting local bands, was a smashing success and celebration of the incredible benefits that ACG National Capital has delivered to its members.

Many of those benefits were captured by Beth Monroe, the CEO of JustinBradley, who said, “I’ve made connections, built friendships, and have been inspired by the success stories of the ‘growth’ community and their clients.  Some of whom are now my clients too.”

If you were unable to attend the celebration in person, here are some photos from an evening of fun, networking and music:
