The National Capital Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) has announced the conference program for the 20th Annual Mid-Atlantic Growth Conference and DealSource, which will take place from March 4-5, 2014 at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.

Among the highlights of this year’s program include speeches by Ted Leonsis, Chairman and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment and Co-Founder, Revolution Growth; Katharine Weymouth, Publisher of The Washington Post; and Len Forkas, President and CEO of Milestone Communications.

A former vice chairman and president at AOL, entrepreneur, investor and innovator – Leonis is most well known as the founder, chairman, and majority owner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which owns the Washington Capitals (NHL), the Washington Wizards (NBA), the Washington Mystics (WNBA) and the Verizon Center – the arena that plays host to all three of these teams. Leonsis has been previously honored as Washington’s Businessman of the Year, a Washingtonian of the Year, one of the 20 most influential people in sports, and one of the top 10 entrepreneurs of the year.

She remains the last connection between the publication and her family following its sale to founder and chief executive, Jeffrey P. Bezos, in October. Weymouth will share her experience running the publication, discuss the evolving media landscape and analyze the challenges facing media outlets today.

Len Forkas is the founder and president of Milestone Communications and serves on the President’s Advisory Council for the Wireless Infrastructure Association. Forkas is also the founder of Hopecam, Inc. – a charity that connects homebound children who are undergoing treatment for cancer, with their friends at school using web cam technology. A serial entrepreneur, Forkas is a nationally-known business leader with deep roots in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
