We’ve often said that the Washington, D.C., metro area is a hotbed of some of the country’s hottest companies in a wide range of some of the fastest growing markets and industries.

If you didn’t believe us before, we have even more proof for you.

Fortune Magazine released their list of the 100 fastest growing companies yesterday. The list is compiled based on a firm’s three years of revenue and profit growth, as well as total return. It came as no surprise to us at ACG National Capital to see five D.C. area companies on the list.

The list includes:

Strayer Education (#74) – A for-profit education services holding company that owns Strayer University and is based in Arlington, Va.

GeoEye (#84) – A satellite-imagery firm that provides satellite images to American defense and intelligence agencies, based in Dulles, Va.

NCI (#88) – A leading provider of IT, engineering, logistics, and professional services and solutions to federal agencies, headquartered in Reston, Va.

Catalyst Health Solutions (#96) – Based in Rockville, Md., a company that manages prescription drug benefits.

ManTech International (#97) – A leading provider of innovative technologies and solutions for national security programs, based in Fairfax, Va.

Congrats to these companies for making the list. They prove that the national capital region is an area of ongoing corporate success and primed for continued growth in the near future.
